Job: Disability Support Workers – ABI

Due to continued growth, we are seeking Support Workers to join our ABI service.  This service provides community based non clinical rehabilitation and lifestyle support to individuals who have experienced a brain injury.

Casual positions are available in the following areas:

• Northside – Kenmore and Bardon

 Duties

• Provide flexible and responsive support services to clients in accordance with their Individual Plan
• Encourage and support clients to develop and enhance daily living skills
• Assist with household cleaning duties, cooking, medication, supervision and personal care
• Liaise with clients’ families and key stakeholders
• Facilitate access to community resources including social, educational, vocational, recreational and leisure activities

Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Personal care experience
• Manual handling experience

Experience in supporting clients with an ABI and/or challenging behaviours coupled with a Certificate in Community Services, Disability or Mental Health is highly advantageous.

 The following licences and clearances are required:

• Current ‘C’ Class driver’s licence
• Positive criminal history screening (Open Minds will facilitate if you are not in the possession of a Yellow Card)
