National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
Open Minds is proud to endorse the campaign for a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Every Australian Counts is the campaign for the introduction of an NDIS. The NDIS will revolutionise the way people with a disability, their families and carers are supported in Australia.
The scheme will offer a new support system for people with a disability, their families and carers, transforming the way services are funded and delivered, ensuring people are better supported and enabling them to have greater choice and control.
Every Australian is asked to stand up and say that people with a disability, their families and carers deserve better and that it’s time for change. You can support the campaign, by taking action to make every Australian count.

Open Minds is a founding member organisation for the Act-Belong-Commit health promotion campaign in Queensland.
Act-Belong-Commit is a community-based health promotion campaign that encourages people to take action to improve their mental health and wellbeing. This evidence-based campaign was developed primarily from research undertaken by Curtin University (WA) into people’s perceptions of mental health and the behaviours they believed protected and promoted good mental health.
As the brand name suggests, people can build positive mental health by keeping physically, mentally and socially active (Act); by keeping involved in family and community activities and participating in community events (Belong); and by taking on challenges or causes that provide meaning and purpose in their lives (Commit).
We feel this campaign has strong ties to the Open Minds commitment to clients and our peer-led Do It Club and look forward to sharing upcoming events and activities as they become known.
